A Nostalgic Resonance: Celebrating Shared Harmony in “It Takes Two”.

Sharon Hendrix‘s musical career has been nothing short of inspirational, from the time she was only two years old and fearlessly sang out in church to her collaborations with superstars like Bob Dylan, Elton John, and Stevie Wonder.

Her most recent cover of “It Takes Two,” a duet with Marvin Robinson, reflects the same passion and commitment that have distinguished her work for the last five decades.

Hendrix’s discography reads like a who’s who of post-Beatles music, but it’s not simply her collaborations with famous musicians that attest to her versatility. She has shown undying dedication to her craft by travelling and recording for decades with music legends like Barry Manilow and Tom Jones.

Hendrix, meantime, launched an engrossing solo career, during which she cared for her beloved Rainbow Tribe family and performed an eclectic mix of music ranging from upbeat pop to heartfelt ballads. Her music is animated by the same vibrant and brilliant personality that brought delight to her early audiences.

Her most recent single, “It Takes Two,” is a reflective look back at her career in music. The legendary duet between Marvin Gaye and Kim Weston is given fresh life by Hendrix and his longtime musical companion, Marvin Robinson. The duet delivers classic lyrics with a lighthearted air, swinging to a lively mix of horns, saxophones, and keys.

The song’s central message—that it takes two to make a genuinely beautiful sound—resonates through the song’s harmonised symphony created by the alluring voices of Hendrix and Robinson.
